In less than 18 hours, the wheels totally came off the Roseanne Barr bus. Early this morning, she went full racist in calling former Obama staffer Valerie Jarrett (a black woman) an "ape". A few hours later, she attempted a weak-a$$ apology. In the end, it couldn't save her top-rated ABC show from being cancelled.
Now, if you thought that was the end, think again.
This afternoon, talent agency, ICM Partners, announced that they've dropped Roseanne Barr as a client.
The agency announced the dissolution of the relationship via an internal memo to its employees:
"We are all greatly distressed by the disgraceful and unacceptable tweet from Roseanne Barr this morning. What she wrote is antithetical to our core values, both as individuals and as an agency. Consequently, we have notified her that we will not represent her. Effective immediately, Roseanne Barr is no longer a client."
ICM Partners began representing Roseanne right before the beginning of her show's revival run on ABC. However, after this morning, her brand is too toxic for the agency.
I would say this is the end but, given all the twist and turns in this story, I'm reluctant to say it's over.
